Jo lost in four sets to Andy Murray

A set ahead and a mini-break in the tie-breaker in the second set...

Indeed but I do not feel any frustration, rather a bit of deceit. Andy was stronger. It is true that the ball that I let go at 5-5 in the breaker weigh heavily on the match. It is for sure the most important point of the match. His back is facing me when he hits the return. His ball travels thirty meters, a bit wobbly but still at 100 km/h (60 MPH). I honestly think that it is sailing away and I let it go by just to see it land within the limit of the court. Honestly I would still make the same choice today.

You went 80 times to the net with a very positive rate of success in these first two sets...

My game plan was to be aggressive. Serve and volley came naturally. I was starting to get bored playing from the baseline. Altogether I was playing a bit better moving forward. Honestly it had been a while since I had reached this level of play. We won’t go all the way back to the Nadal match in 2008 but let’s say the Davis Cup math in the Czech Republic last year against Radek Stepanek. Towards the end I stalled physically; to serve and volley is tiring... Despite the loss I think I am in the right track. Let’s hope that the next tournaments will be positive. This is my best performance at Wimbledon therefore it is positive. I hope one day to win a Grand Slam.

You already have to turn to the Davis Cup...

Yes but first I will go back to Paris to check the status of my knee. I also have a hematoma on the inside of my right thumb but everything should be ok. I am motivated to be in form in Clermont-Ferrand. Spain will arrive without Nadal and this shall help us a bit. I can only say a bit as they have a true armada and whatever happens we know it will be difficult.

One way on Federer’s loss?

He fell on a great Berdych. For Roger this is nothing to worry about, he just won win Grand Slam #17 right now. I think he is a genuine champion. He is still have the envy to continue this is that his motivation is still intact. The day he would want to stop he will say it but I doubt that he is done.
